Dr. Paul Friday is Chief of Clinical Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Shadyside, where he has been on staff for over 30 years.
In addition to his full-time clinical practice, Paul was one of the founding members of the Bio-Medical Ethics Committee, was the Director of the Noninvasive Division of the Multidisciplinary Pain Program and a member of the steering committee for the Center for Complimentary Medicine at UPMC Shadyside. He has taught courses in Medical Hypnosis to physicians and mental health professionals, was the first psychologist in Pennsylvania to be named to the Pennsylvania Cancer Pain Initiative and is the director of the International Crises Intervention Program for perfusionists.
Paul has appeared on CNN, MSNBC News and ABC NEWS and many other local, regional and national radio and television programs addressing a variety of psychological topics. Dr. Friday consulted on psychological character development with the writers for the CBS show The Guardian, and was a principal presenter in the NFL film The Steeler Nation, which was nominated for an Emmy as "Best Production of a Sports Special." He is the author of the critically acclaimed book, Friday's Laws: How to Become Normal When You're Not and How to Stay Normal When You Are.
